Deluge

Every year Bethany World Prayer Center hold a youth conference at the same time as Mardi Gras. It's an event that most youth can attend because school's out. If you ask me it's a perfect time because you can give young people another opportunity to reach their lost friends.
Monday morning I got a chance to go and worship with my brother, Ryan. He's been a real blessing and inspiration in my life, truly one of my best and closest friends. He is the worship leader for our youth group and is doing an awesome job. I have to say I almost got a picture of one of the funniest things I had ever seen. Ryan and I were observing some peoples reactions and responses to the environment, and saw a shocking event taking place. One of the camera men was apparently struggling with a cold and proceeded to shove a Kleenex into his nostril with a twisting spiral motion in and then pulled it out. He looked at it, shoves it in and out at least 4 times. I'm begining to worry at this point that he will do some brain damage. We couldn't help but notice as he was right next to us. Thats when I had to take a pic. Apparently he got what he was searching for because he stopped. LOL.
It's moments like those that you want to share with someone like Ryan. Growing up together and facing some hard and not so hard situations you learn to appreciate the moments where you can look back and laugh. That was a moment to remember, right bro.

Worship Leaders Community

Last night was an awesome experience. Several worship leaders and their spouses gather together at the home of Jonathan and Angie Stockstill for a meeting that would inspire unity among churches. The meeting started with some food catered by Superior Grill, excellent choice of food, followed shortly by introductions and a brief idea of what each individuals role entailed. I listened to everyones response and was very encouraged to see and hear people's genuine response to the meeting of several different churches. Out of about 15 worship leaders and wives from the Baton Rouge area and beyond, an estimated 20,000 people were represented. Wow! How awesome is that!
When the introductions were complete, Jonathan and Ty Cook expressed their vision to see each church help their old and newfound friends and vise-versa. In other words, this is the start of God ordained relationship meant to equip and empower the leaders of these churches to be more effective in their roles, to tell your struggles and victories, what works and what doesn't work, bounce around ideas, and gain wisdom. The Bible says "iron sharpens iron" that is what's meant through this meeting.
We then proceeded to pray for one another, for God to open up opportunities in our communities to do the same with other worship leaders and music directors. After that Jonathan grabs his Acoustic Guitar and leads us into a few songs of worship. Everyone there was prepared to worship God and did just that. We were talking after the evening was over and joked about recording a cd in Jonathan's living room. There was so much talent and anointing on everyone there that it was almost angelic. Literally I stopped singing because I couldn't believe that such a beautiful sound was coming from us. It was genuine and heartfelt sincere worship.
How great is our God? Big enough to bring a group of people with pure motives together to see His kingdom expanded. Not that any single man could get credit but, that through it all the body of Christ would grow in maturity to reach the full potential set before creation. God is doing big things and I'm expecting bigger things to come.

Digital World

This week we got in the new digital snake. Its pretty sweet. It took a little figuring but with a little help from Kameron and Evan we pulled it off. This new snake will help us advance from the analog world into the digital. It acts as a splitter snake allowing us to convert 1 signal into as many as we need without any loss in DB, for recording services, monitors, FOH, and even a live TV broadcast. These are a few of the six units that were needed to finish the job.

BCS Champs (The Year of the Hat)

LSU brought it tonight. Greg had a few guys over to watch the game. A couple of times we were so excited some of the kids actually flinched. Arms were swinging and flailing around like we were actually on the team routing from the sidelines. As coach Miles said in the post game review "woo-heeew". I am usually pretty quiet during the game because it takes place on a Saturday night and I have to sing Sunday. I'll tell you what, this game was no holds barred. I screamed, whooped, and hollered like it was 1999. It's a sad day in Ohio. Sorry all you Ohio fans that had to hurt 2 years in a row.

A New Day.

> Today is the start of a new year. I've been thinking about the great things in my life. The things that matter and mean the most to me. I'm reminded of a scripture from Col. 3:8-10. "Buy now you must get rid of all these things, anger, passion, and hateful feelings. No insults or obscene talk must ever come from your lips. Do not lie to one another, for you have put off the self with its habits, and have put on the new self." There are so many good memories I have from 2007- parties with family and friends, growing kids, happy wife LOL, and many others. Last year started with a church-wide fast. I found so much direction and spiritual guidance in that time that it set the tone for an awesome year. This year will be the same. I am looking forward to God expanding me as a husband- Kylie you are the best thing other than Christ that has ever happened to me. Your support has pushed me to dream bigger and love deeper. You are an inspiration to me, TRULY. Father- Rhay, G, & Squish my life is full with you in it. I pray that God will use me to teach you to be strong men and a woman of God. Leader- you can't lead someone to a better place if you don't know where you are going. Help me to hear your voice Lord so I can be your effective and influential vessel.
Today is a new day. Let go of the past and learn from it. Let today be the start of something fresh and new in your life.
God Bless you and Happy New Year!
